Lighting Up the New Year With Hope

Care for the senior community has always been an important endeavor, but in 2020 it was critical. A proud supporter of Interfaith Caregivers, PRD Management purchased 2,500 luminaries cheerfully decorated with a cut-out snowflake in support of Interfaith Caregivers’ New Year’s Eve Luminary fundraiser to distribute among the 20 affordable housing buildings we manage. As a result, residents of these communities were able to light the luminaries with the provided battery operated candle outside their front doors after sunset on New Year’s Eve to symbolically light a path for a better 2021. 

Even though the pandemic has kept communities apart physically, this inspiring event brought people together in spirit. After a tumultuous year, this fun residential activity was very well received and the enchanting effect of the gentle lights instilled hope in the community.
